holding onto a line
like tracing cracks off your naked back
marked your face with
bitten words stuck to my palms
the half-moon folded into your eye
like dawn licking through a lash.
pressed lisps against your neck
thin breaths spilling against
the wet backs of your knee
spelling out murmurs written in crushed tongues,
grasping at language
for however long i’ve known it.
longed to wish away this vanity
with my cold cheek flush against yours
mouth scored all sorry soft
sliding my fingers
into your words, as i
enter myself again,
feed myself helpless.
